As a member of the classroom 2.0 forum, I received the following notice from Kim Caise, Co-host, Classroom 2.0 LIVE regarding an elluminate session that may be of interest to you. If you are not a member of Classroom 2.0, you may wish to consider joining (free). I have found this to be a good learning forum, and consider it as part of my PLN.
This Saturday, November 7th, at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern / 8pm GMT, our LIVE show will be on the topic of “Educational Social Networking” with Steve Hargadon, the founder of Classroom 2.0.
Steve will be discussing the use of social networking software in education and the lessons that can be learned from existing educational social networks, especially within professional development environments. As well, he’ll be sharing a new whitepaper he’s written on this topic as part of his work for Elluminate and LearnCentral.org. More information and session details are at http://live.classroom20.com.
If you’ve never participated in a live webinar, don’t be afraid to come and observe. ‘Dip your toes in’ the conversations until you feel comfortable enough to “jump into the conversations with both feet”! We want to encourage “experienced Web 2.0 users” to join us by contributing and extending the conversation by sharing real-life examples and tips/suggestions.
Other opportunities:
As an extension to the Classroom 2.0 community, Classroom 2.0 “LIVE” shows are opportunities to gather with other educators in real-time events, complete with audio, chat and desktop sharing. A Google calendar of upcoming shows is available at http://live.classroom20.com/calendar.html. If you haven’t used Elluminate before, we encourage you to view this tutorial to prepare for the Elluminate session: http://www.elluminate.com/support/faq_recordings/FirstTimeUser.jsp.
Session Archives:
On the Classroom 2.0 LIVE! site (http://live.classroom20.com) you’ll find the recordings from our recent “New Features in Diigo v 4.0” with special guests Maggie Tsai and Russ Goerend. Click on the “Archive and Resources” page to view the past recordings.
I am planning to attend this online session. Will you join in?
